Career Skills for Artists and Writers

You know you’re creative. But artistic careers are not build on talent alone!  Do you have what it takes to build a career as an artist or writer? Increase the likelihood of success by beginning to develop the necessary career building skills.

To begin, you need to learn about networking, an essential career building skill so you get connected with people who can positively influence your career.  It’s important you know how to  network well and why it is vital to your career as an artist or writer.  Also, to be successful,  good interpersonal and communication skills are a must! You need to be able to interact well with editors, publishers, agents, gallery owners, museum staff, clients, customers, etc.   You also need to be able to describe  and promote your work effectively through talking and writing including artist statements and query letters.

Career Skills for Artists and Writers will provide you with information about the skills, exercises to practice these skills, resources and feedback. Our work together will improve your confidence and clarify career goals as well.
